Electrical & Instrument Engineer (1802709) McIntosh, AL
Where the Chemistry Happens
This position is responsible for providing Instrument expertise for the Engineering Department at the McIntosh Site. The function will assure the proper design, purchase and installation of instrumentation according to regulatory and BASF standards. Areas of responsibility include executing Capital projects for the Instrument discipline as well as providing technical expertise to operations and maintenance as required.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
- Provide capital project Instrumentation design for small to medium sized projects
- Provide direction for Instrument Designers
- Provide direction to third party Instrument engineers when additional resources are required
- Specifies instrumentation
- Coordinates this activity with area maintenance personnel
- Obtains Vendor Quotes and provides technical support for procurement process for Instrumentation
- Interfaces with purchasing for Alliance contract
- Coordinates this activity with area Maintenance and Operations personnel
- Provides quality checks of all design packages
- Cross-checks between design disciplines
- Performs inspections at offsite fabrication when required including factory acceptance tests
- Produces issued for construction (IFC) design packages
- Evaluate Contractor Bid Proposals
- Supervise/support Instrumentation construction activities
- Participates on CoE team or reviews processes, procedures, and standards and submits requests for updates.
- For Instrument design, the following items apply
- Field Verify / Review DCS, PLC, SIS Capacity / Availability
- Develops SIS specification and reviews documents
- Supports development of interlock and control write-ups
- Owner of Instrument Database. Other workstreams may enter/update information
- Responsible for check-out, Commissioning and start-up support for capital projects
- Lead site Standards Teams
- Ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Provide support to the Central Gulf Regional Service Center as required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
